Description
Bitter (Ndole) leaf is a staple vegetable in soups and stews of various cultures throughout Africa. Because of it bitter taste, they are washes to reduce the bitterness, after which they are dried and used to prepare meat and fish dishes. In Nigeria, the leaves are used also in place of hops to brew beer. The twigs and sticks from their plant are used as a chewing stick for dental hygiene and the stems are used for soap in Uganda.
